Let’s reach new heights together with Strata Climbing Walls.

Where did our name come from?

Situated on the Vale of Glamorgan’s Heritage Coast, our workshop is surrounded by a breathtaking array of rocky formations. These cliffs, standing as imposing monuments, command attention, yet some prove unsuitable for climbers due to their unstable nature. Nevertheless, their sheer heights, often surpassing 100 feet, are a testament to nature’s grandeur. Comprised of carboniferous limestone, these rocks exhibit captivating layers, typical of
sedimentary formations. In geological terms, this distinctive layering is aptly termed “stratum,” commonly recognised as “Strata.”

Environmental Conscience

Rock climbing frequently leads us to some of the Earth’s most  stunning natural landscapes, fostering a profound connection with  nature and instilling in us a deep appreciation for its fragility. At  Strata Climbing Walls, we are committed to preserving and  respecting the environment in all our endeavours. That’s why we  prioritise responsibly sourced wood for our constructions, support  local businesses by purchasing fixings and fasteners nearby, and  diligently recycle all packaging and leftover materials whenever  feasible. By embracing sustainable practices, we strive to minimise  our ecological footprint and ensure that our passion for climbing  harmonises with our commitment to environmental stewardship.
